Nala was my first standard poodle, the dog of my life. With heavy heart, I had to let her go way too soon. Nala was extremely healthy all her life, but the last year we struggled with mysterious eyelid inflammation and soon after that suddeny her intestines indicated problems... After fierce examination and testing after testing, she was diagnosed with rare, aggressive stomach cancer and she was put to sleep.

 

She is missed by many and she gave so much to so many. Rest in peace my love!

 

Nala was more than I ever dreamed of. Energetic, strong and self-confident. Easy to live with in a center of city and to travel by public transportation. I never thought of showing her more than once or twice, our interests were in obedience and agility. She was almost ready to compete in obedience when her younger, silver sister joined our team at junior age. We were hit by show excitement!

 

After few years of showing my silver girl, it was time to introduce this lovely, warm blue colour to judges! And a good dog underneath that colour.... It wasn't easy to compete against good silvers and I am grateful for all the judges that saw through her dark colour! Nala was awarded best bitch by many breed specialists Tarmo Viirtelä (FIN), Doris Cozart (US), Jakub Kruczek (PO), Philip Langdon (UK), Henrik Hannelius (FI). With very limited showing, she was second in Finnish Poodle Club's breed competition 2011, beaten by her own young son. 

 

In summer 2010 Nala gave birth to ten gorgeous puppies in Sweden, kennel Pompano. Her silver sons, Pompano Texas Hold'em and Pompano Texas Twister, are breed winners from Finland, Sweden and Denmark, as well as multiple champions. Her blue daughters, Pompano Texas Blue Bonnet and Pompano Texas Blue Bell are both champions, including Swedish and international titles. Many of her puppies are doing obedience, agility or tracking... Makes me super happy to see she passed both beauty and the brans! 

 

Nala was very strong in temperament, social and wild, and still very loyal in nature. She had wonderful strong coat and even blue colour. She was tall and strong bitch with fantastic balance. Despite her size, her head and expression were the most feminine. Most of all, I miss her eager, warm, wise look on her face when she was waiting what shall we do next.
